The ES-2108 Managed Layer 2 Fast Ethernet Switch is specially designed for small workgroup environments. Its unique fan-less design eliminates annoying noise making it suitable for noise-intolerant environments. Based on non-blocking 1.6 Gbps switching architecture, the ES-2108 provides 8-port 10/100Mbps Layer 2 switching capability at wire-speed over existing CAT-5 cabling to desktops.

The ZyXEL ES-2108 series is designed to serve diverse applications in various network environments. For quality of service application, the ES-2108 series comes with 4 priority queues per port for different types of traffics. In addition, DSCP is supported as well to realize an end-to-end QoS environment. Regarding IP multicasting applications, the ES-2108 series features IGMP snooping to optimize the service quality. Also in bandwidth management, the ES-2108 series can support bandwidth increment steps as low as 64Kbps to fulfill demand requiring bandwidth differentiation.

High-Security Network Edge
The ZyXEL ES-2108 series features VALN functions to secure your network: 802.1Q tagged VLAN and port-based VLAN. With 4K PVID, you get freedom in VLAN management. In addition, the support of MAC filtering, MAC freezing and Specific MAC forwarding, the ES-2108 series allows network administrators to set security policies based on device MAC addresses. Intrusion lock, a feature that disables a port when an Ethernet cable is disconnected, prevents intruders from accessing the network through the switch. Equipped with feature IEEE 802.1x authentications, it restricts unauthorized users from accessing your network and obtaining confidential data. Thus the ES-2108 series is designed to offer comprehensive security features for enforcing security policies on the network edge.
